It seemed odd to me that in the ongoing quest to fund a city art gallery, that if we already had a building (One of the TAFE blocks.) how come we still needed half a million dollars to get the project off the ground?
One of the big issues in 2008 was industrial development at Point Lowly with its threats to the Cuttlefish, tourism and recreation.

Plans were announced for a $50. million expansion of the Westlands Shopping Centre, while the Whyalla Wetlands was starved of funding.
